The suspension set-up is quite firm, particularly when the GWM Ute’s tray is empty.

Pick up the pace and you’ll notice it feels a little bit unsettled on rougher B-roads and over moderate bumps than its key rivals, speaking to the fact it could use some extra refinement for Australian roads.

Is it Practical and Spacious?

It’s more than likely that your first impression of the GWM Ute cabin is that it’s a far more sleek and modern design than you might have expected for a work-focussed vehicle.

The long wheelbase platform has also allowed for an impressive amount of space in the second row of the cabin, making it one of the best in the segment for rear seat accommodation.

All up, passengers are treated to a great deal of space in the back of the GWM Ute, with no issues for leg or headroom and enough width in the cabin for seating three-abreast.

The GWM Ute also picks up a pair of ISOFIX anchors and two top tether mounts that are super easy to access and install a forward and rear-facing child seat.
