Vehicle overview
The BYD Atto 3 has been quick to make a lasting impression with Australian buyers, taking on some of the biggest names in the segment in the ever-competitive world of battery-electric SUVs. It goes toe-to-toe with EV giants, aiming to undercut them on price while over delivering on the value front to win buyers over and, so far, that recipe has been working pretty well. The company offers the Atto 3 in two versions, with the base model picking up a 49.92kWh battery pack good for a claimed 345km of range on the WLTP test cycle. Stepping up to the Atto 3 Premium Extended Range adds a heap of added equipment and a larger 60.48kWh battery pack offering up to 420km of range per charge. Inside, the Atto’s 3 cabin is both quirky and extremely well-equipped, with a 12.3-inch infotainment system in the base model growing to a massive 15.6-inches in the Premium version, both of which have 440L of boot space and more than enough room in the second row to make it a viable option for young and growing families.
