The Chery C5, previously known as the Omoda 5, is a value-packed compact SUV that aims to get a solid footing in one of the most competitive segments of the market. Fresh off a major overhaul, the Chery C5 has a new styling package, revised transmission and suspension hardware and an even more generous equipment list. Notably, that new multi-link suspension system gives the C5 more versatility both around town and when tackling a country road. Chery offers the C5 range in two trim levels, both of which come powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol unit pushing out 108kW of power and 210Nm of torque to the front wheels via a six-speed dual-clutch transmission. The C5 range has picked up a five-star ANCAP safety rating and comes packaged with a seven-year warranty with a capped-price servicing package spanning seven years in total.
