The Inster touches down in Australia as the company’s cheapest electric vehicle, designed for buyers looking for a small, cheerful and super-efficient SUV package tackling the urban jungle. Measuring just 3.8 meters long, the Inster is able to squeeze into virtually any vacant space while remaining quick on its feet thanks to immediate electrical power and a lightweight build. Hyundai offers the Inster in two formats, one with a 42kWh battery offering up to 327km worth of range in the Inster Standard Range, while the Inster Long Range picks up a larger 49kWh NMC battery pack promising up to 360km per charge. Inside, the Inster’s cabin is surprisingly practical for its stature, with the high roof design offering tonnes of light inside the cabin, though it’s strictly a four-seater package with a 280L boot that expands to 351L if you slide the rear seats all the way forward. The Inster’s battery packs can be DC fast-charged at speeds up to 120kW, offering a 10 - 80 per cent charge in around 30 minutes, with the added bonus of vehicle-to-load (V2L) charging to keep you powered up while camping.
