Kia has thrown its hat into the world of midsize battery-electric SUVs with the EV5, representing the most affordable electric SUV in the company’s stables to date. The Kia EV5 is offered in three trim levels, with a standard range variant sitting at the base of the lineup topped by long-range variants that offer up to 555km of range, with long equipment lists, the latest safety technology and Kia’s seven-year warranty program firmly in place to sweeten the deal for buyers.

Following in the footsteps of its larger EV9 sibling, the Kia EV5 showcases Kia’s latest battery-electric know-how in a more user-friendly, midsized SUV package that is perfect for family buyers. The EV5 is set to play a key role in the company’s electric vehicle expansion plans, positioned in one of the most popular model segments with a reasonably affordable base model that is powered by a single electric motor paired with a 64.2kWh battery pack offering up to 400km of range.
