Vehicle overview
Skoda has officially entered the midsize electric SUV world, with the Elroq hoping to take on some of the biggest names in the segment with its reasonable price tags, class-leading energy efficiency figures and a nice long warranty. The Elroq ticks important practicality boxes inside the cabin, with the sleek layout offering great interior accommodation filled with practical touches, a nice big infotainment display, excellent rear legroom and a family-friendly boot. Underneath, both versions of the Elroq come powered by a single electric motor pushing out a very healthy 210kW of power and 545Nm of torque, allowing it to hit 100km/h in around 6.6 seconds. Electricity comes supplied by an 82kWh lithium-ion battery pack that, combined with the Elroq’s 16.6kWh per 100km energy efficiency figures, offers up a claimed 529km worth of range. The Elroq’s 82kWh battery pack can be DC fast-charged at speeds up to 135kW while AC charging is capped at 11kW. Skoda gives Aussie buyers the confidence of a seven-year/unlimited kilometre warranty, conditional roadside assistance and capped-price servicing spanning out ten years, meaning the Elroq holds up particularly well on ownership costs compared to its biggest rivals.
