While Volkswagen is no stranger to the world of family-friendly people movers, the ID. Buzz is a bold departure from the company’s more conventional van lineup. The ID. Buzz offers a striking blend of retro charm underpinned by the company’s latest electric powertrain technology that makes it a one-of-a-kind package in the family van space. The ID. Buzz Pro’s single electric motor produces 210kW of power and a substantial 560Nm of torque, with the company stating it hits the 100km/h mark in 7.9 seconds. For buyers looking for a bit more power, the ID. Buzz GTX picks up an additional electric motor at the front axle which offers a significant power bump up to 250kW, with 679Nm of torque on offer. With its dual-motor layout, the ID. Buzz also benefits from VW’s 4Motion all-wheel drive system and can hit 100km/h in 6.4 seconds. Short wheelbase versions pick up a 77kWh battery pack while LWB versions receive a larger 85kWh battery pack, offering range figures between 461 - 487km, if VW’s European specifications carry over to Australian units.
