Audi’s SQ2 has been designed to showcase just how much extra performance the company’s sporty division can squeeze out of the regular Q2 compact SUV. It’s a sharper, more agile and far more potent beast over the regular Q2, with engineers squeezing 228kW of power and 400Nm of torque from its 2.0-litre, turbocharged four-cylinder engine that drops its 0-100km/h sprint time to 4.9 seconds. The extra power is matched by an upgraded sports suspension package that sits 20mm lower to the ground, beefier brakes and a more dynamic tune for Audi’s quattro all-wheel drive system that make the SQ2 an accomplished little corner carver. Inside, the SQ2’s cabin receives a number of sporty upgrades over the base model that culminate in a sharper, more focussed and exciting interior design. There’s new sports seats upholstered with Nappa leather and stainless steel pedals, with Audi’s 12.3-inch virtual cockpit for the driver and an 8.8-inch infotainment display paired with an upgraded 14-speaker SONOS sound system reserved for the SQ2.
