Drive travels down to the road through all four wheels thanks to quattro permanent all-wheel drive, which is mated to a lightning fast eight-speed tiptronic transmission. In a normal 40:60 split front to rear, the self-locking center differential distributes power variably between the front and back axles. For optimum traction, up to 70% of the power can be routed to the front and up to 85% to the back, depending on the conditions and driving style.
