Mazda CX-3

The Mazda CX-3 is the most affordable compact SUV within the company’s ranks, and thanks to its attractive price tag, ease of maintenance and strong safety rating, it’s also one of the cheapest new cars to insure here in Australia.

With prices starting from $23,390 for the entry-level CX-3 Neo Sport manual, the CX-3 platform remains within reach for many buyers, and thanks to its five-star ANCAP safety rating and autonomous emergency braking system, it remains relatively cheap to insure.

Stepping up higher into the range adds blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alerts, lane departure warnings and adaptive cruise control that help to keep the CX-3, and its driver, out of trouble on a daily drive that helps to keep insurance companies very happy.

Toyota Corolla

With a sales career spanning back six decades, insurance companies are well-aware of the Toyota Corolla’s safety and reliability, and are happy to respond in kind with affordable insurance premiums for Corolla buyers.

Priced from $25,395, the Corolla is Australia’s best-selling small car and has been updated with a lineup offering hybrid options across all three model grades and some added safety kit as standard on base models.

The Corolla range comes fitted with autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-keep and lane-trace assist, and lane-departure warnings as standard.

The ASX range kicks off from $24,990 for the entry-level ES manual which comes fitted with 18-inch alloys, LED headlights, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and 8.0-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay & Android Auto.
