The GV60 Performance is available in Matterhorn White, Melbourne Grey and Atacama Copper, while there are three options for the interior finish, including Obsidian black with copper accents, Monstera green with copper accents and Ash Grey with copper accents.

Is it Comfortable to Drive?

The GV60 is a sublime electric vehicle that offers buyers far more power than you might expect.

Underneath, there’s a pair of electric motors that produce 234kW of power and 605Nm of torque in the base AWD model, while the Performance AWD is tuned up to 360kW of power and a massive 700Nm of torque.

The end result is nothing short of staggering acceleration for a midsize SUV, with the Performance variant hitting 100km/h from a standstill in just four seconds.

If you’re unfamiliar with the power delivery of an electric vehicle, expect to be impressed by the immediate acceleration and the sudden surge of momentum when you’re pushing the GV60.

What makes the GV60 even more impressive is just how refined and comfortable it is when you’re simply commuting around town, with Genesis’ attention to comfort and a premium package clearly on show.

Around town, the GV60 is easy to manoeuvre thanks to its nimble handling and lightweight steering, while the smooth power delivery and regenerative braking system make light work of town driving.

Opting for the GV60 AWD Performance adds a clever camera-based adaptive suspension system that identifies and compensates for bumps on the road, as well as a limited-slip differential for even more fun in the corners.

While the package is no doubt limited by the added weight of its battery pack, the suspension reduces any major body roll and the rear differential adds some spice to the mix.

All up, the Genesis GV60 is a sublime package to drive on the road, and is a strong performer when put under the test in and around town, on long-distance road trips and spirited driving alike.

How Far Can the Genesis GV60 Travel on a Single Charge?

Genesis says that the 77.4kWh battery pack fitted to the GV60 means it can travel around 470km on a single charge for the base model.

Opting for the Performance variant drops the range to 466km.

How Long Does it Take to Charge the Genesis GV60?

Charging times for the GV60 depend on where you’re charging it.

It comes fitted with 800V architecture that can accommodate DC fast-charging up to 350kW, which takes the pack from 10 - 80 per cent in just twenty minutes, and a clever vehicle-to-load feature that can power household and camping appliances.

Using a 7kW AC outlet at home takes around 11-hours to fully charge the GV60’s 77.4kWh lithium-ion battery pack.

Is it Practical and Spacious?

Like all Genesis creations, the interior fit, finish, comfort and practicality of the GV60 is a major selling-point for the company that continues to impress with its stunning designs.

Stepping inside the GV60 greets the driver and front passenger with a one-of-a-kind cabin that feels equal parts futuristic, premium and charming.

The front row of the cabin offers a heap of space, visibility and headroom for the driver and front passenger, with a lovely set of Nappa leather seats complemented by a suede headliner that makes the cockpit feel undeniably premium.

Interesting touches to the front cabin include the crystal-finished transmission switch, and a pair of digital screens replacing the traditional side-view mirrors.

The centre console features a large storage area, a pair of cup holders, storage inside the folding armrest and a set of USB chargers, wireless smartphone charger and there’s also some netted storage.

Move to the rear of the cabin and you’ll be pleased to find a heap of space for rear passengers, with acres of legroom for adult passengers and a decent amount of headroom, even with the sloping roofline design.

The GV60’s unique platform allows for a completely flat floor in the second row of the cabin that makes it more comfortable for long journeys, while there’s also a pair of ISOFIX anchors for buyers with young children.

Finally, boot space is rated at 432L in the rear which expands to 1460L with the rear seats folded, while there’s an extra 20L of storage under the bonnet for some loose items or charging cables.

Is it Safe?

The Genesis GV60 has been awarded ANCAP’s maximum five-star safety rating, scoring 89% for adult occupant protection, 89% for child protection, 63% for vulnerable road user protection and 88% for its safety assist technologies.

As standard, the GV60 comes well-equipped with safety tech, including autonomous emergency braking with junction assist, rear cross-traffic alerts, blind-spot monitoring, lane-keep assistance, a surround-view camera with front & rear parking sensors, safe-exit assistance and eight airbags around the cabin.

Our Verdict: Is the Genesis GV60 Worth it?

For those looking to make the switch to a battery-electric platform, the Genesis GV60 is a wonderful option that provides an impressive all-electric SUV proposition for buyers.

As a midsize SUV, the Genesis GV60 is a strong performer on day-to-day commutes while offering a seriously impressive amount of performance when the mood strikes, offering buyers a heap of versatility.

Better still, its bespoke design allows for a generous amount of interior space and practicality for growing families that make for a genuinely impressive battery-electric midsize SUV.

Combined with perhaps the best ownership program of any manufacturer in Australia, the Genesis GV60 is very much deserving of a spot on your shortlist for an electric SUV.
