The company formerly known as SsangYong is now officially known only as KGM, with the Korando tasked with taking on some of the biggest names in the medium SUV segment head-on. Offered in two variants, both versions of the Korando come powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine that kicks out 120kW of power and 280Nm of torque to the front wheels via a six-speed automatic transmission that drinks a claimed 7.7L per 100km on the combined cycle. Step inside and the Korando offers solid accommodation in both the front and rear of the cabin while its boot measures 407L, expanding to 1,104L with the rear seats folded. Standard equipment in the Korando ELX includes a set of 18-inch alloys, leather-wrapped steering wheels and heated front seats, while the Korando Ultimate picks up a panoramic sunroof, 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, leather upholstery and ventilated front seats. To sweeten the deal, buyers pick up a seven-year warranty alongside seven years of roadside assistance that makes the Korando impossible to ignore in the medium SUV space.
