Hyundai offers a five-year warranty for its new vehicles, while Hyundai genuine parts are covered by a 12-month warranty, and genuine accessories are covered by a five-year warranty.

Hyundai’s five year warranty covers any issues to the powertrain or drivetrain that are the result of a manufacturing defect, as well as coverage for the paint, battery, air conditioner and audio system. It also includes compensation for any other loss or damage caused by a major failure

This includes hardware like the engine block, cylinder heads, gears, shafts, bearings and pumps, as well as the turbocharger if applicable.

The warranty does not include coverage for consumable items like spark plugs or tyres, or if the vehicle is used for commercial purposes, or damage is caused by careless driving, absence of regular maintenance or the use of non-genuine parts.

Hyundai says that its batteries are covered by a two-year or 40,000 kilometre warranty here in Australia, so long as a Hyundai Genuine Battery is installed by an authorised dealer. This coverage extends to defects in material and workmanship starting from the date of purchase.

This does not extend to batteries that have been modified, over or under-charged.

Hyundai packages its new vehicles with 12-months of roadside support, with an additional 12-months added for each annual service at a Hyundai Service Centre. The benefits of Hyundai’s roadside support package include flat tyre, out of fuel, towing, locked keys and flat battery coverage, 24 hours a day.

Your membership will be activated automatically at the time of a new vehicle’s purchase, which is valid for 12-months from the date of registration. 12-months of additional roadside assistance will be added automatically if you service your vehicle at an authorised Hyundai dealership for up to ten-years of coverage.

Hyundai’s Auto Link is a smartphone application that allows the owner to communicate with the vehicle’s key systems, and monitor things like the battery health, fuel economy figures, tyre pressures, CO2 emissions, driving history, or get in contact with Hyundai’s roadside assistance and support team.

Hyundai recommends any owners looking to update their satellite navigation systems to book in for a service at an authorised Hyundai service centre to have the infotainment system updated by trained technician.

However, Hyundai also mentions that some owners may be eligible for a free download of the latest navigation update that can be installed at home via a USB port.
