Mazda FAQs

Mazda vehicles are produced in its home country of Japan, as well as in North America. The majority of Mazda’s vehicles are produced in Hofu, Yamaguchi, and Hiroshima production lines, while the Mazda 6 is produced in Flat Rock, Michigan and Claycomo, Missouri in the United States.

Things that are not covered by Mazda’s warranty include any damage that is caused by an accident or modifications to the vehicle, as well as wear-and-tear items like tyres, brake pads, windscreen wipers and routine services.

Mazda currently sells its vehicles with a five year, unlimited kilometre warranty.

There is nothing to suggest that a Mazda powertrain or drivetrain is more difficult to maintain than any other manufacturer. In fact, mechanics often prefer to work on a Japanese vehicle like a Mazda due to the simple packaging of their engine, and both the affordability and accessibility of their inventory.

Mazda’s engines are relatively fuel efficient for their size and their power and torque outputs.

The most economical Mazda vehicle in the lineup is the Mazda 2, which is rated at 4.9L/100km, while the most fuel-efficient Mazda 3 is rated at 5.3L/100km. Stepping up to the Mazda 6 brings fuel economy to 7.0L/100km, while the MX-5 is rated at 6.2L/100km and the BT-50 ute is rated at 6.9L/100km.

For Mazda’s SUV lineup, the CX-3 has a fuel economy figure of 6.3L/100km, while the most fuel-efficient CX-5 and CX-9 models are rated at 5.7L and 8.4L/100km respectively.

Mazda’s roadside assistance package is included with the purchase of any new Mazda vehicle from the 1st of April, 2019. Mazda’s roadside assistance package includes coverage for flat batteries and tyres, emergency fuel, lost of locked keys, 50km of towing coverage for bogged vehicles, accident coordination, urgent message relay and taxi services up to $110.

So long as your device was purchased in the past five years or so, it’s likely that your smartphone is compatible with Mazda’s infotainment system, even on its latest vehicles. For a complete list of compatible devices, head over to Mazda’s compatibility checker here.
