Move to the rear and the ID.5 treats those in the second row with a great deal of respect.
With the help of its bespoke battery-electric platform, the ID.5 offers great rear leg and headroom for adults.
Behind a tall driving position, adults won’t be pressed for space in the back of the ID.5, meaning you won't hear a peep from kids on a long trip, though they might not have a great view out the side windows, which rise quite prominently.
Thankfully, the panoramic sunroof helps to add some more light into the rear of the cabin while headroom is healthy, even with that tapered roofline that in similar coupe-styled SUV packages can come with a reduction in headroom.
In the ID.5, though, headroom thankfully isn't an issue.
Amenities in the second row come in the form of dedicated climate controls and air vents, USB charging ports, a folding armrest with built-in cupholders, door bins and a nifty little pocket on the seatback perfect for a smartphone.
For the parents, the ID.5 picks up a pair of ISOFIX anchors on each of the outboard seats as well as three top tether mounts on the seatbacks.
Installing a bulky child seat is reasonably simple thanks to wide aperture doors and a healthy gap between the first and second row seats.
All up, then, the ID.5 performs well on the practicality front, managing to tick all the improrant boxes inside the cabin, even with that angled roofline.
