Mitsubishi FAQs

Mitsubishi has earned itself a reputation for producing well-engineered and reliable passenger cars that are both affordable and backed by a long warranty.

Some of its most popular vehicles include the Lancer, which became a well-established player in the World Rally Championship, while the ASX, Eclipse Cross and Outlander SUVs and the Triton ute have become well-known passenger cars currently in production by Mitsubishi.

Depending on your needs, Mitsubishi offers a wide-ranging product lineup that offers something for everyone. For those looking for a compact hatchback, the affordable Mirage is a great city car, while the ASX is perfect for those looking for a compact SUV.

For larger families, the Mitsubishi Outlander or Pajero Sport are the best models in the lineup when size, practicality and features are considered, while the Triton is by far the best model for those looking for a work-ready vehicle that can double as a comfortable family car.

Perhaps the most unique selling point of all Mitsubishi vehicles in today’s market is the company’s ten-year warranty, which is currently Australia’s longest ownership program, otherwise known as the ‘Diamond Advantage’.

Keep in mind that this ten-year warranty applies to vehicles that are serviced within Mitsubishi’s Motor Dealer Network, while commercial vehicles are excluded from the program.

Mitsubishi vehicles are well-engineered passenger and commercial vehicles that are built under strict quality control measures in its Japanese factories and, as a result, can be considered as a good, reliable and often affordable car.

There is absolutely nothing to suggest that a Mitsubishi vehicle is any less of a quality offering than its major competitors.

There are two primary ways of cleaning a diesel particulate filter, otherwise known as a DPF in vehicles like the Triton and the Pajero Sport.

The first involves clearing the DPF with a high-temperature environment that causes any soot or debris to oxidise, where it can be cleared from the component with high-pressure air.

The second way to clean a diesel particulate filter utilises water and a powerful surfactant that latches on, and breaks down particles within the PDF, which can be removed with water, dried out and re-installed within a short period of time.

While Mitsubishi states in its warranty terms that coverage is applied to all of the original components that “have not been modified or altered from the manufacturers’ specifications,” the company also says that modifying your vehicle or installing parts and accessories “will not void your warranty.”

This means that modifications will not instantly void your warranty, although, the costs of any damage or replacement parts needed as the result of a modification or unapproved part or accessory will not be covered by Mitsubishi’s warranty.
